Last April 17, 2014 the world lost a literary hero. He was 87 years old, a Nobel prize winner for literature in 1982 and is know for pioneering the magical realism genre. I was 18 when I first read Love in The Time of Cholera and thought this and 100 Years of Solitude are the only books that I've read from him, I became enamored with his ability to described real life into something magical. He might be gone but his words would live not just within me but also for those whose lives he had touched - forever.
