Among the comics superheroes, Batman was my least favorite. Why? because for me, Batman is not a superhero. Unlike Superman, Spiderman, The X-Men etc. who were individuals with supernatural powers, batman is just Bruce Wayne, a filthy young rich man turn into his Batman alter ego when someone needs help. And how does he do it? well.. he just fights the bad guys using his famous gadgets for he has NO superhuman powers. That's the reason why, I am not in any manner interested with his life story thus I don't want to watch any Batman movies for that matter - until The Dark Knight.

Honestly speaking, I was supposed to stand by with my dislike of Batman movies but after reading all the fuss The Dark Knight had caused including breaking the record for the highest opening day which was previously held by Spiderman and deceased actor Heath Ledger's much talked about performance, curiosity got the better of me and the next thing I knew, I was lining up to buy tickets to watch The Dark Knight on the big screen and it turns out to be what I don't expect it to be.

The Dark Knight was a blast! It was so damn good that I ended up searching the Internet about each of the characters "life story" so as to better understood them and their role in Batman's life. As to Ledger's portrayal of Batman's arch nemesis - Joker? man.. that guy was so brilliant! He was so frighteningly terrific that you ended loving him instead of well..hate him (?). And I must admit, he really stole the show away from Christian Bale who played Batman/ Bruce Wayne. Heath Ledger was truly talented but sad to say he died last January due to a drug overdose.

This is what I do when I don't have any idea what to write in my blog. I just list down everything and anything that had happened to me for the past days whether it involves me or just something I've read or see on tv for what purpose? NONE! LOL! I just post it here for the heck of it!

Rafael Nadal beat Roger Federer on Wimbledon
I haven't seen the Wimbledon Finals between these two tennis greats. But I am not surprised when I heard that Nadal ended Federer's 5 year reign in Wimbledon with a bang! Having seen the French Open Finals last month wherein he beat Federer, I saw a different Rafa. I have no doubt that he would beat Federer on the grass court. Kudos to Rafael Nadal! He works hard for this so he really deserves it.

Gossip Girl
I've been hearing all this fuss about this Hollywood TV hit about the lives of the privileged teens on Upper East Side. I admit, I was intrigued when I first heard about it but sad to say we don't have a cable TV in our apartment that is why I haven't watch a single episode of it! But my friend told me that there are some pirated DVDs about the show sold in downtown Cebu and I'm going to buy one! :)

We argued again. He just told me I'm too paranoid. I told him he was so lazy and irresponsible. I feel like things were not the same as before. (sniff)

That Surprise Quiz!

..in Rizal pissed me off! Imagine, out of 50, I only got 1 point! My gawd!

I was walking along the school grounds when a 6th grade boy approached me. I thought he was just being friendly so I converse with him with much gusto.

Here's how our conversation goes:

BOY: Hi miss, I'm Gerald..

ME: Hello! I'm..

BOY: I know you.. Gayla right?

ME: yah.. how come you know my name?

BOY: I've seen you around since last year.. You were sporting a short hair before..Now, its long already

ME: yah.. it's long already (smiles)

BOY: but it doesn't matter.. you're so beautiful..

ME: oh.....uhm....really? thanks...

BOY: yah.. Can I ask you a favor?

ME: sure..what is it?

BOY: Can I have your number?

ME: uhm... why?

BOY: So that I can court you!

ME: what?! Are you serious?

BOY: yah..

Man! that was really a shock for me! When I told a friend about this, she said that I'm so lucky because young boys think that I am still attractive. That means, I still look younger than my age is - I'm 21 by the way. Just like what they say: "May asim pa ako". But honestly? I don't feel lucky or happy about this. Yes, some part of me was amused about what the boy was saying and I do feel gratified but somehow a big part of me was thinking : Is that the trend nowadays among young ones? What is happening in our society nowadays?

I can still remember when I was still in that age, courtships and being in a relationship was a taboo in our playmate group. All we think about was friendship, Fun and the endless games. So you can just imagine, a 12 year old boy wants to court a 21 year old me? What does he know about courting anyways? And what does a 12 year old know about relationships?

I don't know about you but for me, it's just so weird.
