I was reading my friendster blog when I've stumbled upon this article...

HOWEVER, IF THERE IS ONE FLAW IN WOMEN, IT IS THAT THEY FORGET THEIR WORTH.

Our teacher gave us a "Surprise Exam" in our Income Taxation subject a while ago and DARN! It was so 'effin HARD! Most of my classmates really had a hard time answering all of the items. Some of us were even opening books and notes under the table and they were some who kept on glancing to other people's papers (just like me! HAHA). When it was all finished and results have been given to us by our teacher, I'm not shocked about my score---a very flat zero (0).

Surprise exams really annoys me. You know why? I'm not the type of person who always study everyday. I don't hate studying its just that I'm not into advance studying. I'm not a freaking nerd! That is why everytime there is a surprise exam my head would move (literally) from side to side looking at my classmates answers or I would just use my stock knowledge (if there's any) to answer the questions being asked and the bottom line is? I ended up having low scores.

But don't be fooled! Surprise exams is not that serious though. It's just our teacher's way of knowing how far we have read or know about a particular topic. I remember what my previous professor told me before


Unfortunately, as you have guess, I rarely follow this advice. I mean, why should I answer the testpapers "as honestly as possible" if I'm desperate to pass the subject no matter what?! No one forbid me to "help my own self" in times when there's no one I can turn into (*wink). So off I go to cheating during surprise exams! LOL! I know its bad but I don't do it all the time. Only those times when our professors would barge into our rooms and would just say "Get a whole sheet of paper and aswer this..."

I was supposed to post this yesterday but unfortunately there's no internet connection in our PC so I have no choice but to share this incident with you today even if it happens yesterday.

Isn't it touching when someone is a good samaritan? But what about if that someone is the least person on earth you thought to be like that? What would you feel?

Now here's the scenario...

My boyfriend and I were eating siomai at a foodhouse in front of our school. He said he didn't have much money left on his pocket so he can't shoulder my food expenses. Thus, we were on KKB (Kanya Kanyang Bayad). We were on our way back to the school campus after we had finished eating when he suddenly asked if I had a change for Php 50.00. I asked him why and he just answered me "basta". So I gave him two Php20.00 bill and a Php 10.00 coin in exchange for his Php50.00 bill that he gave to me. I thought he would just buy cigarrettes when he started to distance his self from me. But what he did next makes me so proud of him. He run towards a streetchild who was 3 meters away from us to gave that child a Php 20.00 bill. When he came back, I asked him why did he do it and he just told me "luoy mn ang bata gud..wa xa kwarta pang.buy ug food" (I felt pity to the child. He has no money to buy food). When he said this, I wanted to hug and kiss him that very moment! Unfotunately, we're on a public place so I only smiled.

I never expected my boyfriend to do a thing like that. He's a smoker, drinks alcohol, rich, sometimes stubborn, quarrels with his dad, a frat member, and just a happy-go-lucky guy. And yet, he has a kind heart to his fellow human beings.

If only the whole world would be like that. If only we treat each other as brothers and sisters. If only there's no divisions between the rich and the poor. If only we would help each one of us. Then our world would be the most beautiful place to live in.

Yesterday, I received a text message from a friend of mine telling me to wear black tomorrow. This serves as a silent protest against the policies that our school had implemented. I told her, I would not do it because I'm getting tired of this crap. I've been supporting protests against our school policies ever since and I've been wearing t-shirts (different colors at that) to voice out my protest but it was all useless. But when she texted me again that there has been a memo (I've never encountered it) from the council and the Administration that SKINNY JEANS ARE NOT ALLOWED ON FEMALE STUDENTS, I freaked out!

For heaven's sake, Why? What's wrong with skinny jeans?

I think everyone knows what skinny jeans is. I know it's the fad nowadays and I am so madly in love with it (who does not?). It's my must have for every girls. So imagine my reaction when I learned that it would soon be banned by the administration! This is totally an insult to our liberty as a student of this University. What are they trying to do? Who are they to make such policies? Did they consult the students for which their purpose is to serve them? Or are they serving their own insecurities and personal interests?

We have been banned from wearing rubber slippers. We are not allowed to enter the school premises if our shirts is not two inches below the belt line. We are condemned to suffer the pains ogf aching tired feets from climbing steep stairs and walking on slippery corridors because of wearing at least two-inches of heels in our feets due to their two-inch heel policy. We are forced to wear that scrappy school uniform that if not to the airconditioning units of the classrooms, we would be filling buckets of sweats. And now banning skinny jeans? Why don't they just say BE NAKED when entering the school? Isn't that what they are doing? Stripping the students of their rights?

Dress Code Policy is good if and only if it doesn't prejudice the rights of the students and if and only if it's not way too much. We were "supposed to be" a community-oriented society here so why act like we are not?

Im just hoping that the Administration would reconsider our appeal. Let us, the women, the students be heard. Skinny Jeans should not be banned!

This post was inspired after watching Studio 23's Y-Speak a while ago. Damn! I really like their topic this week. In fact, I didn't change the channel because I was hooked to their conversations about exes and forgetting. I admit that one of the reason why I was hooked is because somehow I can very well relate to it (like who doesn't?). I'm kinda feeling mushy romantic about it (if there's such a word) that I can't help but reminisce my very own first love and why I don't believe in the saying First Love Never Dies

Now here's my story...

My first love became my first boyfriend. We've known each other since childhood because we live in the same baranggay. To cut the long story short, Stupid Cupid hit me with one of his arrows and Whoala! I was in love. I was 17 back then and never had any boyfriend experiences so imagine my happiness when My Crush, My First Love courted me! siyempre, flattered at happy ako! and just like any other woman In Love, I readily accept his "proposal" not knowing that I entered into a world of betrayal and heartaches. In short, our relationship was not at all a bed of roses. It didn't work out the way I imagined it to be. My childhood dream of being married to the first guy that I felt in love with was gone.

It was so hard to accept back then that my first relationship ended up that way. But what hurts me the most was the fact that he never had loved me the same way that I loved him. I admit, after this sad experienced, I vow to never fall in love again and labeled all boys as a f*****g liars! I was feeling so alone that I became too grounded by my emotions. I thought that I would never forget him and he would always remain as the only guy I love---but I was so wrong.

First Love dies afterall. You just need to have a lot of time and some friendly reminders to help you overcome it. Here's what I did:

"If your alone, it doesn't mean that you have to be lonely. You have to go get a life---moved on. Be happy because you deserved it."

I have been into two relationships after that first love incident and both of them failed also. Now, I'm into a one year and 8 months relationship with this great guy. I love him so much and frankly I'm hoping that we would be together forever. I have no idea yet what would happen to us in the future but if anything would gone wrong this is one thing that I've learned from my experiences on love to

"say only good things about your ex for once in your life they made you one of the happiest people here on earth"

Sooner or later, a new love will come into your life after a breakup but always make sure that before you enter into another relationship make sure that you don't have EXcess baggage in the past.

The line at Ayala Center Cebu ticketing booth was long. Different Faces all recording one meaning--excitement beams at me from the crowd of people hungry to have a ticket of the latest movie this season--Transformers.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think this is Transformer's second opening week in our country but it still is a huge hit base on the crowd of people lining up to get a ticket too see it and base also on the number of people talking about it. I confess, I used to be one of those who doesn't give a damn about this.

I'm not a Transformer's fan---really.I have'nt watched the cartoon series way back my childhood days ergo I didn't know much about the characters -- the Robots. That is why, I'm not that keen enough and super excited to watch it. If it had not been to my boyfriend, I won't watch it and write this review--err sort of. If it had not been to him, we would not be lining up at the ticketing booth. I'm not blaming him for anything though. In fact, I'm thankful that because of him, I found out that Transformers was not that bad after all.

Anyways, Transformers, like what I said was not really my cup of tea, thus in order to be "not-being-left-out" during discussions with my boyfriend, I've read reviews and synopsis of the movie on the web. It's better to have some piece of information on hand than to be a total weirdo na nakatulala lang at walang alam sa mga pinag-uusapan d ba?. Now going back to the reviews that I've read, Transformers has it share of the good ones as well as the negative ones posted by anybody on the net. Wanna know what I think about it?

Now here's the plot, Transformers is all about good robots called the Autobots engaging in war with the bad robots called the Decepticons over a "special cube" that can cause havoc on mankind if it would be in the hands of the bad ones. That cube was found here on Earth ergo humans became entangled in the so called "robot wars".

At first, you may see this movie as pure testosterone having fights left and right to make it more entertaining to watch. Trust me, I thought so too but after watching it, I found out that there are some comedic scenes entwined in the whole movie. I so love the part when the Chevy Car (which became one of the robots by the way) hum out a "Baby Come Back" song whenever the lead guy's apple-of-the-eye walk away. I also love it when the SUPER HUGE Robots try to fit in the lead guy's small house to hide themselves! I have to give credit to the people behind this movie especially the Special Effects Team for doing a job well done in making this movie such an entertaining thing to watch. The Transformer's shape changing from robots-to-vehicles and vice versa keep me in awe. It was perhaps one of the amazing things I've ever seen in the movie world.

Apparently, the movie keeps me hanging. There are some scenes in there that seems like it's lost. Some characters were gone in seconds as the movie nears its end. I wonder where are the new robots that was created by the special cube gone? What about the"defense girl" and the "Black Guy" who both discovered what the so called aliens were after for? What happened to them?

Over all, this movie ROCKS! It's really worth everything--your dime, time and interest. You better check it out and be transform.

After almost 10 years, the original all girl group announced a few days ago that they are performing a series of shows in January. Victoria "Posh Spice" Beckham, Melanie "Sporty Spice" Crisholm, Geri "Ginger Spice" Halliwell, Emma Baby Spice" Bunton and Melanie "Scary Spice" Brown surely are getting back together huh?

I'm such a big fan of this group way back when I was still in Elementary. My cousins and I often sang their songs and act out their videos in our little play and I would always play the part of Posh Spice (she's my favorite spice girl). Like any other spice girls fan, I was heartbroken when the group break up in 1998 with Geri Halliwell's departure. This became one of the biggest news stories during that year. But the remaining girls still continue to record albums and appear in shows yet the group is still not the same as having Geri around.

Since then, rumours of a Spice Girl Reunion began circulating the music world and fans around the world patiently waited for this to happen but it never pushed through not until this day.

I'm so excited to see the group that started it all perfom once again! I wanna hear their hit songs once again! It's like being 9 yrs old again playing "wannabee" with my playmates.

I was browsing the sunday newspaper (Sunstar) today when I came about this article:

Cairo, Egypt - the death of a fifteen year old Egyptian Girl at the hands of a doctor performing Female Circumcision

Female Circumcision - refers to the excision or tissue removal of any part of the female genitalia for cultural, religious or any non-medical reasons.

At first, I thought that circumcision is for the boys only. I really have no idea that this would apply to girls like me because at the back of my mind I always say to myself "what's there to cut out for? we don't have protruding genitals in our reproductive system just like boys for doctors or any person to cut for whatever reson there would be". But this article really struck me hard that after reading this, the curious me browse the internet to research for any other articles regarding this topic. What did i found out? a lot. I found out that female circumcision is a widespread practice as part of their culture in Muslim African Regions with Somalia, Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia and Mali having the most number of people who practiced his kind of "ritual". For them, aside from cultural reasons, the other reason for this practice is to tame the woman's sexual desire so as to retain her honor. If this is the case, do they have to do that?

This is totally outrageous! It's not a humane act no matter what their reason is. I'm not against any other religion, country or race for that matter, its just that I'm not into this kind of thing. I'm a woman and it freaks me out to hear stories of this kind and for pete's sake its 2007 already! Woman of today deserve some utmost repect!.

I just hope that health officials, the government, and with a little help from the UN would put a stop to female circumcision.
